Certainly, a tortured existence with fear and pain as she is passed around is not being kind to her. It also doesn’t do anyone any favors to take on a horse and get hurt. I can see this owner is trying but she has financial limits – horses are expensive! Which horse do you choose if you can realistically only commit to saving one? Or do you save both and put yourself at risk for being over the top with your expenses? How many long term ‘retirement’ horse sanctuaries are there that take in new horses at no cost?
