Animal Art A to Z

Animal Paintings Alphabet for 2011

I need your participation!  I am gathering reference photos so that I can paint an alphabet of animals for 2011!  Please join me on my Save A Face facebook page and share your photos or post them on this page in the comment section.  It is set up to accept jpeg images.   Please write what the animal is in case I don’t know!  :)  I will put out a call for photos for whatever letter of the alphabet I am working on and ask that you share your photos with me.  I am not specifying any particular details other than the animal must start with the letter I am calling for.  That could mean the beginning letter of the species, breed,  type….. You decide.  Ex. Letter A could be :  Antelope,  Andalusian,  Australian Cattle Dog,  American Bobtail.  The only restriction is the photos can not be copyrighted.  You must use your own photos.  Clear, larger file sized photos taken in natural light with the animal taking up most of the frame work best.

If this takes off and becomes fun and interesting I may make it into either an e-book or a print on demand book at the end of the year.  I am reserving the Z for either a zebra or Z-donk though!  :)  Let’s have fun with this!!

  13. B is for Boden. He’s an American Hanoverian that I bred. He’s coming 13.

  14. This is Bert. He’s an appendix quarter horse that Holly used to own. He was a very cool guy to be around. Note I ‘painted out’ some ick in the photo and not very well either! You recently did a painting of a chestnut that reminds me of Bert.

  15. C is for Camel. I took this on a recent trip to the Wilds.

Bert is beautiful!!! Oh I had fun with that chestnut drawing! I love the soft eyes on this sweet boy! the photo is a very nice one to work from as well. Thank you for sharing!!

  18. Dorothy says:

This is my handsome boy. He was a registered American Quarter horse. He was a Palomino stallion with the champagne factor, and that is why his eyes where a light golden color, doesn’t show very well in this picture, and the shine that can be seen. He was my pride and joy. I sure do miss him

  19. admin says:

Oh Dorothy he is stunning!!!! Thank you so much for the submission. He certainly deserves to be made into a work of art!!

I have two palominos in my barn now. I have always wanted some since I was a kid and found these two that needed rescuing. Bling came to me last year and is the most comical, fabulous horse. Bliss is newer. I just got her less than a month ago as a yearling. She was an extreme neglect case and rescued in Aug. in very poor condition. Her weight is good but she has a terrible issue with farriers so we have some things to work on with her. Thankfully she is easy for me to handle so I am hoping we can turn that around for her since she is so young.

Thank you again Dorothy! Do you have a story or rescue that you’d like to write more about? If so you are welcome to do so.
