Steps to Commission a Pet Portrait

1.   Choose painting size

2.    Send a $50.00 plus tax deposit by mail or pay pal.

3. Send large sized file digital photos to artbysuesteiner@gmail.com or mail photos to the above address.  Do not mail original photos. Photos taken in natural light as a close up are best for portraits.   Having many poses to choose from is best if it is possible.  If your pet is still living plan on sitting on their level and waiting until you can get a natural expression.  Horse photos are best outside (non-grazing) poses.  Barn or stall photos are often very dim.  Natural lighting and shadows gives me more to work with as far as creating an interesting painting but I will work with whatever you have.

4.  I will call you to discuss specifics.

5.  I do commissions in the order in which I receive deposits so I will give you a time estimate for completion.   Usually the time frame is 4-6 weeks.  Christmas orders are best if ordered early since that is typically a very busy time and the slots fill up quickly.

6.  When the painting is completed I will send you an image for your final approval.  You are also welcome to meet at my studio at anytime in the process.  Periodic updates by e-mail or at my studio are possible if you desire.  The balance is due upon your final approval.

If the painting needs to be shipped the buyer pays for shipping.  I pay the insurance.  Your satisfaction is my priority.
